The month of August marks the celebration of National Language Month (Buwan ng Wika) with the theme ”FILIPINO: Wikang Mapagbago”. Schools are expected to come up with activities that will make the students understand why the Filipino language is considered the language of change and strength of the nation.
The Preschool Department was able to participate in the month-long celebration with the guidance of the chairperson for each level. The Nursery Level under the chairmanship of Ms. Karla Shane L. Ilao started practicing a Filipino Song entitled ―Mamang Sorbetero” during the launching on August 6. Some Nursery pupils were chosen by their respective teachers to dance on the Culminating Day using this music.
A classroom-based activity was also held on August 17. An art activity entitled ―I AM A FILIPINO‖ in which the national costume for girls and boys were colored and designed by the students. The Best Artwork for each class was chosen and awarded during the Culminating Day.
Likewise, the Kindergarten Level under the chairmanship of Ms. Glazel V. Diaz had their participation during the entire celebration. Their classroom-based activity was the making of “Bahay Kubo‖ craft out of tissue box, popsicles sticks, pencil sawdust, poster paint, and glue. The elimination for the art activity was held on August 28, 2017.
The selection of the best craft among the ten sections was done on the same date and awarded during the Culminating activity. The Preparatory Level with Ms. Kristine P. Naz had a great time making a ―JEEPNEY” model, a Philippine public vehicle and pride because it’s one of a kind. The model was made from boxes and decorated by the students. Three out of the eight sections were selected as winners of the best ―JEEPNEY” model.
