Showcasing an excellent exhibition of dedication and adeptness in the mathematical realm, the Senior High School team of PISQ made a remarkable statement by attaining all major awards: Champion, First Runner-Up, and Second Runner-Up last October 27, 2023, in the 5th Math Whiz Contest hosted by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) at the Gymnasium of Philippine School Doha (PSD). Maintaining PISQ’s title as the Grand Slam Champion, these students utilized their proficiency and passion for mathematics to thrive in the competition. The following coaches spearheaded countless hours of tutelage to produce a resounding success: Mr. Mike Edison B. Pioquinto, Mr. Kevin E. Mallari, and Mr. Jojo L. Calague.
A skilled team of 20 PISQian representatives actively participated in the elimination round of the Math Whiz Contest, wherein a 2-hour written test utilized their in-depth training and utmost knowledge of different branches of mathematics. Accumulated scores then dictated the final five (5) as they proceeded to the highly anticipated final round, where PSD and PISQ were seated next to each other for a nail-biting battle that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Exercising their minds to the maximum level, PISQ achieved the unexpected by securing all three awards in the Senior High School category.
As the 5th Math Whiz Contest came to a close, the results were a testament to their intense preparation, strong support system, mathematical competence, and enthusiasm to ensure that they emerged triumphant. It was an indispensable learning experience for each of the representatives knowing that despite every predicament, they stood with resilience and flourished with flying colors.
Congratulations once again; PISQ is endlessly proud of your accomplishments!
