During the Cultural Night on February 16, 2024, PISQ delegates wowed the audience with stunning performances in traditional Filipino attire and showcased Filipino culture through a vibrant booth display.

The Spring Model United Nations (MUN) Conference held at Georgetown University-Qatar from February 15 – 17, 2024, emerged as a significant event in the realm of diplomacy and international relations. This event served as a melting pot of diverse perspectives, uniting delegates from various educational institutions and backgrounds to engage in discourse on critical global issues, foster relations, and refine their communication and diplomatic skills. The conference was participated by 32 local schools in Qatar and 25 schools from outside Qatar, amplifying its reach and impact on a global scale.
Among the esteemed participants, Philippine International School-Qatar (PISQ) stood out, sending two delegations comprising seven delegates from the Senior High School and five delegates from Junior High School levels. Their presence not only underscored the school’s commitment to excellence but also highlighted the Philippines’ active participation in the international arena.
As the conference progressed, delegates from PISQ showcased their prowess in diplomacy and debate, passionately representing their assigned countries’ interests and contributing constructively to the event. Their dedication to research, eloquence in speech, and adept negotiation skills were evident in the fruitful discussions and resolutions formulated during committee sessions. PISQ delegates excelled in the committee sessions, with 7 out of 12 delegates bagging awards for their outstanding performance. Among the awards received per committee were:

Apart from the conferences, Georgetown University also organized a Cultural Night that was held on the second day, which added different global traditions to the conference. PISQ delegates seized the opportunity to shine, wearing traditional Filipino clothes and giving an amazing performance. Their presentation was a harmonious fusion of traditional and contemporary Filipino dances and songs, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines.
In conclusion, the Spring Model United Nations Conference at Georgetown University-Qatar served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and sharing cultures, leaving an indelible mark on all participants. PISQ’s exemplary performance showcased the power of diplomacy in shaping a more inclusive and interconnected world. As delegates returned to their respective institutions, they carried with them valuable experiences and insights that will continue to inspire positive change in the global community.
